Longsword 101 - Longsword 101 Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) is the study and recreation of medieval fighting systems from surviving books and manuscripts. This class will enable you to execute historical Longsword techniques with confidence and begin your journey within the historical fencing community. The first half of class is dedicated to learning and practicing new techniques, while the second half of class is for “open floor space.” Open floor space is an opportunity to make this experience your own! Solo or with a partner, practice techniques you have learned, delve deeper into source material with treatises and books, or fence with other class members and friends. If you ever wanted to swing a sword, this inclusive HEMA class has something for everyone. Loaner equipment is available. No equipment is required to start this class.
